I have a tool window (tool window property is true) derived from CExtNCW<CExtResizableDialog>. This is not displayed correctly. The window caption is not any smaller than a regular window, and the close button is not highlighted when hovered.

This bug still exists in 2.83. Is it fixed in 2.84?

You are absolutely correct. The CExtNCW template class currently ignores the WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW extended window style. So, that is why the tool window with skinned non-client area looks like an ordinary pop-up window.
