I’ve just upgraded to XP Pro (little late!) however I’m getting the following error when attempting to start up an application in the event log:

Generate Activation Context failed for c:\projects\Nant\VisBuild\debug\ProfUIS282md.dll.

Source: SideBySide
EventID: 59

I get an application error ’The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)’.

I’ve recompiled everything I can think of.

Any ideas of tips??

Thanks,

ed

This is a problem of SxS (SideBySide) subsystem of Windows XP. We found the following links usefull.

We have been using many copies of Windows XP since it appeared. We have used this OS without service packs, with SP1 and SP2. We have both Win32 and x64 versions of Windows XP. But we have never come across SxS errors since Windows XP was released. We believe installing some vcredist***.exe on your computer should fix this issue.
