Yes. You should define a custom layout rule array for each button node in a ribbon group. All buttons should have only one item in the rule array which defines some visual informativenss of the button at the maximum effective informativeness level. As a result, the group of buttons will have a constant width because all the buttons in it does not change their visual look.

The most appropriate control is a palette menu. You can see this menu displayed from a toolbar chevron button. You can see a palette menu in the context menu displayed over the popup menu related dialog page in the ProfUIS_Controls sample application.

Please explain more about what’s wrong with the width of the ribbon group with buttons displayed on the screenshot? This width is computed by the ribbon bar automatically. It’s the minimal possible width which should allow to display all the buttons inside the group.

A position of the display of the fixed menu is changed by a variable menu.

I think that a user is hard to treat it.

Therefore, I want to immobilize the width of the variable menu.

The width of a ribbon group is computed using the width of its inner ribbon buttons. That is what we see in both your screen shots and everything is correct in both cases.
