Hi,

will there be any update to the themes of Prof-UIS regarding the background of the controls? Especially the background of the CExtButton looks very chunky when using the Office2007_R1 skin for large buttons. You can see the effect in the ProfUIS_Controls sample application (on the buttons tab) when using the Office2007_R1 and hovering the mouse pointer over the button, because the background is StretchBlt’ed to the buttons size.

I have to use the Office2007_R1 theme in my application and I need rather large buttons. Is there any workaround to make the background look better on large buttons?

We confirm that there is such an effect for large button windows when any of the 2007 themes is used. The R1 theme demonstrates even a higher per-pixel contrast. The ::AlphaBlend() API draws the bitmaps into DC which has the HALFTONE bitmap stretching mode set on for both ::AlphaBlend() and ::StretchBlt() APIs. So smoothing is performed. The per-pixel contrast effect is provided by the bitmap pixels themeself. We could make bitmaps larger and smoother using an image editor but buttons of the normal size would not be exactly the same like in Office 2007 after that. Anyway we will try to avoid this by using two bitmaps for two modes. Please let us know if you have a subscription and how soon you need this improvement?
