Casinos are the big winner. Every game you play is calculated to benefit the casino in the long run.
Even games that the cassino is not part of, has a component that pays the casino. There is no casino playing in poker, so “the house” takes a certain percentage of every pot.
Who else wins?
Poker players who are better than the other people s/he plays against.
Some people who are lucky and have the smarts to quit when ahead can be winners because they do not let the casino beat them in the long run. My wife is a pretty lucky gambler. But she never lets the fact that she is winning blind her that if she plays long enough, the odds will work against her. So, if she isn’t being lucky, she quits early in her gaming session ad walks away. If she is winning, she sets most of the winnings aside and when her luck turns, she walks away rather than give the money back.
