In the CExtShellDialogBrowseFor dialog, if you have the edit control on, the edit control is never updated when you select a directory in the tree. I did a quick and dirty fix for the flags I’m using, but it probably needs to show different things depending on the flags selected. Bill

I forgot to add another issue I found was with CExtShellDialogBrowseFor::OnExtBffMakeNewFolder() I had to comment out the following lines: if( ! pData->m_pidlAbsolute.IsFolder() )
return; The code returns at this point if you are editing the path string and the string never gets updated. So there are 2 bugs found. Bill

Hi Team,
We are facing problem with INPLACE MENUS.
We have SDI application Where we load in place excel server object and combine inplace menu with the embedded server menu. The defaut arrangement of the Application is such that one View window which is specifically for In place excel server object is in docked state. The menu of application gets merged with the in place menu for this OLE item.
Issue:- When the docked view window is dragged using mouse to undock state and mouse pointer moves out of the view window focus, the in place menu unloads.
Is the Behaviour correct? Since my view window has excel embedded , i want this inplace menu to remain loaded. What is solution you can propose. let me know if, i am missing anything.
Following is the snippet of our impletation.
BOOL App::InitInstance() { CSaIsDocTemplate* pDocTemplate; pDocTemplate = new CSaIsDocTemplate( IDR_MAINFRAME, RUNTIME_CLASS(CSaIsDoc), RUNTIME_CLASS(CSaIsMainFrame), // main SDI frame window RUNTIME_CLASS(CSaIsPresentationView));
pDocTemplate->SetContainerInfo(IDR_CNTR_INPLACE); AddDocTemplate(pDocTemplate);
} int MainFrame::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct) { g_CmdManager->ProfileSetup(pApp->m_pszProfileName,GetSafeHwnd());
VERIFY(g_CmdManager->ProfileWndAdd(pApp->m_pszProfileName,GetSafeHwnd())); VERIFY(g_CmdManager->UpdateFromMenu(pApp->m_pszProfileName,IDR_MAINFRAME)); VERIFY(g_CmdManager->UpdateFromMenu(pApp->m_pszProfileName,IDR_CNTR_INPLACE));
if(!m_wndMenuBar.Create(NULL,this,IDR_MAINFRAME)) { TRACE(_T("Failed to create menubar\n")); //Infosys:Unicode: TRACE0 changed to ’TRACE’ return -1; }
m_wndMenuBar.EnableDocking(CBRS_ALIGN_TOP);
// We have another Dockable Result window
m_wndResultBar.SetInitDesiredSizeHorizontal(CSize(50,240)); strFrameName.LoadString(IDS_SAIS_RESULT_BAR); if( !m_wndResultBar.Create(strFrameName,this,IDS_SAIS_RESULT_BAR,WS_CHILD|WS_VISIBLE|WS_CLIPCHILDREN|WS_CLIPSIBLINGS |CBRS_TOP|CBRS_GRIPPER|CBRS_TOOLTIPS|CBRS_FLYBY|CBRS_SIZE_DYNAMIC //|CBRS_HIDE_INPLACE //Hide Inplace flag has been removed to do away with the excel-reports loading issue. ) ) { TRACE0("Failed to create m_wndResultBar\n"); return -1; // fail to create } }
Looking forward towards your quick responce/Support
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
Please advise solution for the case we want to re-order existing columns in report grid by code. For work around we called method ReportColumnActivate to hide all columns then we show one-by-one follow correct order. But this solution cause bad performance so we need to improve by another solution. Please advise!

Grid are used to manage records.
Normally the records are mapped to the grid on a 1 to 1 relationship.
When you reorder the columns you need to understand what you want to have happen to the records. So could you give me a little more information on what you are trying to accomplish.

A solution could be to send a column to the clipboard, then insert or delete the columns as required. Then paste the clipboard in the column required.
A second solution would be to send the data including the headers to a CSV file and then reordering the CSV file and reinsert the new data. Sounds like this would be a good feature to include in the class. Support@TSELLCC

The Slider control will be included in the Release 2.94 version. There is a commented out slider in the ribbon bar in Beta 2.94. When it is uncommented it provides a slider and several other controls. This code will appear in the 2.94 release. Release 2.94 is due out shortly.

We have found that on a standard dialog (meaning, just CDialog or CFormView or similar, not one of the CExt...Dialog classes), if we place a CExtColorButton within a group box, the button will not draw itself by default. If you click the mouse in the area where the button resides, it will draw itself in the open state, with the drop down palette visible. As soon as an action is performed to close the button (click a color, click elsewhere off the button), it no longer draws itself until you once again click on the button’s area of the screen.
We have tried using CExtGroupBox’s hoping that was it, to no avail. We have tried modifying the dialog styles, to no avail. The only thing that does seem to work is to modify the button’s style after the sublcassing has happened:
m_ColorButton.ModifyStyle( WS_CLIPCHILDREN | WS_CLIPSIBLINGS, 0 );
We tracked this down to the those styles being added in the PreSubclassWindow method of the button class. Now, we aren’t sure why this causes a problem, or even if the removal of those styles is the most appropriate fix. We are hoping you can provide insight into this...
Thanks,
Kevin Murray AGI

Kevin One of the quirks of the Prof-UIS MFC Library is that the group boxes need to be at the end of the dialog boxes. This has to due with the Z order of the windows. We use the edit as c++ and take the group box entries in the rc file and put them at the end of the dialog box.

We were using ProfUIS version 2.54 and have upgraded to the latest version 2.91. I built all the static and dll targets of 2.91 on VS2008.
We have not faced this issue with Profuis Version 2.54 but after upgradation to the latest version 2.91 we faced this issue. Earlier we have already raised the same problem with ProfUI support and didn’t got any satisfactory solution of this problem from ProfUi side.
please see the link "http://www.prof-uis.com/prof-uis/tech-support/support-forum/the-tab-text-gets-trimmed-if-it-is-in-a-language-other-than-english-69357.aspx" For our earlier concern/Issue.
During our investigation we have found problem with Profui code, so we have decied to crete new test application to verify it. We have prepared test application and found problem in Profui code. following are code of our test application.
We have derived our class from CExtTabPageContainerOneNoteWnd & then have overridden OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct) which has been implemented as :-
int classname::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct) { if( CExtTabPageContainerOneNoteWnd::OnCreate(lpCreateStruct) == -1 ) return -1; OrientationSet( __ETWS_ORIENT_LEFT );
CCreateContext* pContext = NULL;
if (lpCreateStruct != NULL) pContext = (CCreateContext*)lpCreateStruct->lpCreateParams;
CString strTabname = "Tab One"; if( ! m_view1->Create(NULL,_T(""),WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE,CRect(20,20,1,1), this,ID_VIEW1, pContext)) { ASSERT( FALSE ); return -1; } if( ! PageInsert(m_view1->GetSafeHwnd(),strTabname)) { ASSERT( FALSE ); return -1; } if( ! m_View2->Create(NULL,_T(""),WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE,CRect(30,30,1,1),this,ID_VIEW2, pContext)) { ASSERT( FALSE ); return -1; } strTabname = "Tab Two"; if( ! PageInsert(m_View2->GetSafeHwnd(),strTabname)) { ASSERT( FALSE ); return -1; } }
NOTE:- To replicate this issue write tab name in JPN charactes in the above code.
Here, m_view1 & m_view2 are instances of classes derived from CView class.
The above code creates tab which are aligned vertically. The problem is that if the text to be displayed is in a language other than English, the text gets trimmed and "..." is displayed in the end. If the above code execute on JPN machine then Text gets trimmed and "..." looks in the end of the tab.
Earlier We have sent our test application to Profui support, But if you need it again we can sent it.
Environment on which we have replicated this issue:- O/S type and Version - Windows server 2003/R2 Any MUI JPN machine.
We are facing this problem for a long Time, Request you to look in to this issue on Top priority as our lots of customer facing this problem and waiting for the Solution of this problem.
Thanks

I am converting an application to run on WIN 7 64 bit OS, as a 32 bit app (using ProfUIS), and using VS2010. I had to modify a number of my app’s include files to specify explicit packing that I require. I now get many C4121 warnings on a number of ProfUIS include files --> alignment of a member was sensitive to packing. e.g. below, the warning is on the DWORD following the bool. __EXT_UX_HTHEME m_hUxTheme;
HINSTANCE m_hUxThemeDll;
bool m_bNeedToFreeDll:1;
public:
DWORD m_dwComCtlVersion; What default packing is ProfUIS expecting for its include files? What can I do so the compiler does not give these warning (other than to suppress them). Thanks

The problem of packing has to do with base size of the memory word. I would assume that Win64 would use a 8 byte word. Whereas the Win32 would be 4. I would think a #pragma pack(8) Would solve your problem. Let me know This is Microsoft’s explanation. Error Message ’symbol’ : alignment of a member was sensitive to packing A structure member is aligned on a memory offset whose value is not a multiple of the member’s size. For example, the following code snippet will produce this warning: Copy // C4121.cpp // compile with: /W4 /c #pragma pack(2) // C4121 struct s { char a; int b; }; You could make one of the following changes to prevent this warning: • Change pack(2) to pack(4). • Reverse the order of the structure members such that the int precedes the char. When data is not aligned on boundaries that are multiples of the data’s size performance can degrade and if you port your code to a RISC machine it will not compile. You can specify the structure alignment with #pragma pack or /Zp. Note that the compiler does not generate this warning when /Zp1 is specified.
