QuickBooks Error 15222 can occur when a user tries to download a payroll or a QuickBooks Desktop update. This error is usually caused by an incorrect configuration of Internet Explorer or the security settings in Windows. Here are some steps to fix QuickBooks Error 15222:

1. Verify your Internet Explorer settings:
Open Internet Explorer and click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
Select Internet options and click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Security section and make sure that the following options are selected:
Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0
Use TLS 1.1
Use TLS 1.2
Click on Apply and then OK.

2. Check your antivirus software:
Make sure your antivirus software is not blocking QuickBooks from downloading updates.
Add QuickBooks and Intuit as trusted sites in your antivirus software.

3. Install a digital signature certificate:
Download the digital signature certificate from the Intuit website.
Save the file on your desktop and double-click on it to install it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

4. Check your Windows settings:
Open the Control Panel and select Internet Options.
Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
Make sure that the following options are selected:
Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0
Use TLS 1.1
Use TLS 1.2
Click on Apply and then OK.

4. Restart your computer and try downloading the QuickBooks update again.
