When the rightmost button on the ribbon bar is displaying the large icon, I resize the application so that the dialog width is less than the width of the ribbon bar. I expect the ribbon bar to shrink as soon as it no longer fits on the visible window, but I can make it so that half of the buttons in the rightmost group are off the screen before it shrinks. It appears to shrink when it gets to the point that the small icon with text no longer fits on the visible screen.

I can also reproduce something similar (though to lesser extent) on the Ribbon Bar demo. Run it in a restored window (neither minimised or maximised), select the insert tab and drag the right hand side of the window so that the symbols buttons are shown large. Now drag the right hand side of the window back and it is possible to get part of the symbol button off the screen without the bar shrinking.

Also, Still using the Ribbon Bar Demo, I can drag the window to be about half the size of the screen. Press the maximise button and all the buttons show large. Press the restore button and the buttons stay large with many of them off the screen.

We apologize for the delay with this reply. We played with the RibbonBar once more and failed to reproduce the behavior you described in both cases. For example, when the window is restored, the active tab is Insert, the Symbols group is expanded (you can see the Equation and Symbol buttons) and you start reducing the width of the window, the Symbols simply collapses. Could let us know more details about how to produce the bug and/or send us a screenshot(s)?

these are the steps I use to reproduce the maximise/restore problem:
•    Make sure the restored size is not wide enough to accommodate all icons fully expanded (by running the app, shrinking the app window by dragging right hand edge then closing the app)
•    Start RibbonBar (running in debug via IDE)
•    Select Insert tab
•    Press Maximise button (top right)
•    Press Restore button (top right)
•    Now several of the rightmost icons are offscreen.

I am also sending an e-mail giving steps for 2 other similar issues and screen shots so you can see what I am seeing.

NB, I am using Prof UIS 2.62 trial version and running in debug using the IDE

We found what the problem is. At first, we could not reproduce the bug because we used the binaries compiled from the latest source code (v.2.63.2, v.2.63.3). Please download the sample that uses 2.63.2. We can offer you the latest profuidll so you can proceed with evaluation.

Thank you for reporting the problem.

It does appear to be fised in the downloaded sample. How can I get the latest profuidll?

Technical Support Jan 23, 2007 - 11:26 AM

You can download the latest source code (2.63.3) from the download page.

That download appears locked. I presume because I am evaluating (30 day license)

There is no problem with this. We will tell you how to download the new dll via ftp. But let us know which Visual Studio you are using?

VS 2005
