I am tying to display a 256 color bitmap on a toolbar but it appears in black and white. My buttons are 64x64 big. This is bigger than the standard Prof-UIS toolbar. How can I map bitmap to the toolbar buttons?

There is a sample FunnyBars in Prof-UIS. It shows how to use non-standard bitmaps in toolbars. We may guess that your bitmap is monochrome and not of 256 colors. If the problem persists, just send us a test project so we can help you.
