When i switch UI themes using the trial version, almost every sample will crash,

and some samples even can’t start up.

Wu Yunpeng Nov 30, 2005 - 12:43 AM

The prompt:

Debug assertion failed!

Program:......

File:C:\users\Prof-UIS\Src\ExtControlBar.cpp

Line:3838

but the file "C:\users\Prof-UIS\Src\ExtControlBar.cpp" does not exist at all.

If i press the "Retry" button, the program can start up but i can not switch the theme.

if i do switch the theme, then there will be run time error as follows:

"... The memory can not be read 0x00000028......"

Please set Prof-UIS directories in the Visual Studio settings. We recommend you carefully read the articles available on our website starting with Getting Started with Prof-UIS.

You are the first who says that "almost every sample will crash". OK, we are ready to assist you and find out what’s wrong. But we need much more information about the problem, so that we can reproduce the situation when almost every sample crashes. Which OS you are running? Which locale? Did you try to start the samples on another computer? As a last resort, we could connect to your desktop remotely and find out what may cause the problem.

My OS is Windows XP with sp1,simplified chinese edition,

the version of my visual studio is 6.0 with sp5.

and I tried the samples on another computer, the same thing happened.

whether there is something wrong with my OS?

thanks.

That’s really weird. In fact, there are very many Chinese developers that use the library -- nobody complained of this before. OK, we can help you to find out the cause of the problem. Please drop us a line to support@prof-uis.com -- we will tell you how to set up a web conference to resolve the issue.
